My PC usually runs a CPU temp of 35 degrees and a system temp of 38-40 degrees.

I run Win2000 Pro SP2. When i run MS IE 6.0.260, it seems that when i go to a site that has Flash applets in, it pushes the temp up to 55+deg and freezes it !!

I will look at the bug reports for MS IE and prob update it but has anyone else seen this ?

Don't really check my temps, but IE is very memory hungry, so combine that with some flash animation and you can expect you CPU to get a work out.

Can't give much more advice than that tho.

I use VIA Hardware Monitor. I have an Abit KT7a Raid motherboard and a Athlon 1Ghx processor.

I never trust that program. I think it may be reporting the temps the wrong way round. You could always use the performance tab in task manager to see the cpu utilisation and compare this to the temp, when utilisation goes up, the temp normally does as well.
