Binhex 4.0 and HQX files

Hello,
Having trouble opening a couple of attachments to an email.
I think they must have been sent from a Mac..
When I open the files with Word it says at the top :
(This file must be converted with BinHex 4.0)
I cannot find a copy of Binhex on the net... done a search and found some info but nothing that didn;t want me to pay for a copy.
Am I out of luck and it is not a shareware etc??
Anyone suggest a solution?
