Memory configuration on a ProLiant DL3x0 G6
Anyone here that works for HP?
I'm trying to spec' the RAM for a new ProLiant DL360 G6. I've found the HP online tool:
DDR3 Memory Configuration Tool
The major flaw is that it expects you to have the server in front of you, so you can check which DIMM slots are in use and what the HP part codes are on the existing DIMMs. Erm, I've not bought the bleedin' server yet!
I believe the DL360 I'm looking at ships with 2 x 2GB RDIMMS (server part code 519568-425) but do HP expect you to be Mystic chuffin' Meg to work out what slots they come in and what the part codes are?
Pre-sales put me through to India and the bloke I'm onto can't understand what I'm asking

Hi Chris
Eventhough I am working in HP's client department, maybe the following link to the HP Quickspecs (Product Bulletin) will help you get the necessary information:
Worldwide QuickSpecs
Give it a try and if you are still stuck, get back to the presales. Your question clearly is a presales question and the person must help you out.
Hope this helps, good luck.

I have the HP Quickspecs tool installed on my PC. That normally answers any questions - it does give an idea of what slots to use but not if the standard RAM uses the option kit part numbers.
