Default Which Processor

I need to get a new PC and have looked at getting another Dell, possibly an XPS Studio.

It will be used for a lot of app's, downloading, music burning, photo's, home videos, net, home business etc.

It will come with 64 bit Vista (I have read that with the right Memory and processor it's not as bad as some might suggest, I also have my original XP Pro which I could install if needs be.

I will go for 4 GB memory as I believe this should be sufficient but there are an array of processors, would someone mind explaining in laymans terms which is best and why please

Intel Core i7-920 Processor (2.66GHz, 8MB)

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E7400 (2.80GHz, 1066FSB, 3MB)

or (not in the XPS but the Vostro machine

Intel® Core™2 Quad processor Q9400

Anything else I should consider before splashing the cash. (cant wait for Windows 7 sadly)

Many Thanks

FM
