My wife and I have one itunes account. She has itunes on her lap top and runs her own library with various playlists...and so do i.

We each have iphones and set those to only sync songs we have put in a specific "itunes play list" on our library.

What we want to do is sync the folders behind the library......so she downloads song X and i download song Y......then we sync and can see each others songs on our own itunes.

Problem is - when you muck about with the folders itunes doesnt seem to re-scan the folder to pick up new songs unless you tell it to (which takes hours)

Also - sync toy (which i love for most stuff) seems to regard any played song as "changed" and so a simple sync takes hours as it thinks all the songs have altered and overwrites the library that hadnt played it!!!!

Solution???
