New Machine - how to create internet connection?
Hello
Just put a new machine together and installed Windows XP Pro SP3 on it. It's been a while since I last did this and I can't remember how you configure a new Local Area Connection so it can connect to the internet. So, for now I'm stuck.
Can anyone point me to a step by step guide on how to do it or give me a quick workflow tutorial. Would be most grateful....
TIA

in the TCP properties of the connection tick the "Obtain an IP address automatically"
so do the following
right click on Local Area Connection, select properties
select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the window and click properties
select "Obtain an IP address automatically"
all the above is assuming your router is already connected to the www and set for DHCP
good luck
so do the following
right click on Local Area Connection, select properties
select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the window and click properties
select "Obtain an IP address automatically"
all the above is assuming your router is already connected to the www and set for DHCP
good luck
