Default Norton ghost ??

Can anyone who uses Norton Ghosts advise me just what edition is considered the best out off all the previous releases ?? ask this as I am sure I have read before that the earlier releases were actually better for whatever reason than some off the later ones.

anyone confirm this ??

okay to use Norton ghost and just store everthing on an external hard drive ?? bit unsure how it all loads back up thou ?? is there an order that you replace everything should it be required , or is this where ghost comes back in ??

lastly is there any other software off this nature worth considering ??

norton was bought out by Symantec -- which has been bought by Altiris

imo Ghost -- the imaging product was best in V5 --- coz the client boot files could fit on 1 floppy disk (not so relevent with boot from USB)

and also you could image RAID disks -- I think they depricated this functionality in later versions

to restore your computer, you boot from the norton cd, ghost runs - you point it to the image you want to restore and it does the rest. I take an image of my C drive once a month and store it on an external drive
