iphone advice
Well the little gem of a phone has proved to be great so far
I bought a few things in preparation for it arriving:
An incipio silicon case
Some sennheiser headphones
Apple 3G dock
Now the headphones are lovely, best ones I have used in ages
The 3G dock is perfect as well, all nicely weighted etc but the problem is between the dock and the case. Even though the case is nice, I cannot really fit it into the dock which is a pain. SO is it better to look at a different dock or a different case ?
Also which is the best in car cradle ? Ideally I want one that can either:
Hold the iphone and also charge from the cigarette lighter. I have looked at the brodit (pro-clip one) style ones as I already have the mounting unit but was interested in others. ALready have bluetooth ParrotCK3100 which works a treat.
Maybe something that can hold, charge and also allow playing of the iphone via an FM transmitter ?
Any ideas all welcome

Don't bother with a case, just fit an invisible shield ( Ebay )
ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | iPhone, iPod Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield
I've had mine from day of release and it cleans up with a cloth like new, just take your time fitting it as it can be tricky.

Any reason you need a Dock? I've got a Dock for my iPod and I hardly ever use it, I just leave the iPod on the desk and plug the cable in. I did originally have a similar issue to you as I had an iSkin case for the iPod and it would not fit in the Dock. After a while I bored of the case and removed it, but didn't bother to start using the Dock.
I know you're talking about an iPhone, but the premise is the same.

I bought a Exspcet case for mine and it is rubbish, so I would also say avoid a case.
The one I got was £20 and is a full case, but has a tab that you pull to remove the phone, but its just too tight and I can never get it out or back in, oo-er
I'm also interested in a car dock/charger thing.

Exactly Markus, my thoughts exactly. The reason I want a dock is because it keeps it nice and neat on the desk and although it is one of those things that can be a fad at first, I thought if I get a good combination of dock and case/skin then I will use it.

For the FM music side, this looks alright
iWorld - Please enable your cookies
I am going for one of these, as I have canned the idea of using the music on the iphone for the time being and going for plain old charging/holding
ProClip Mounting System - Choose Your Country

I use an incase skin and a screen protector with mine and it has kept it as new since release day or thereabouts. The skin also has a cut out for the dock so never have to remove it. I bought just a bog standard windscreen mount that is a sucker with bendy arm on it and the iphone sits in it perfectly as its an adjustable cradle and the lighter socket charger has no problems plugging in to it.

I initially bought a Bodyguardz skin - after a lot of research between that and Invisible shield. The front was no problem but I had difficulty with the back so gave up.
Also, although I didn't really want to put it into a case - the iPhone is just well...sexy....I bottled it as I use it daily in and out of my pocket and wanted some protection if I dropped it. I now have a Incase Slider case - the bottom removes to enable it to sit on a dock and charge.
I've dropped my phone a couple of times - not from a great height and onto a soft landing. I don't think it would have been damaged but I'm glad the case was there just in..er....case!
