Default Can You copy onto Disc

As title really, but was wondering if you can copy onto a disc films etc that have been (Sky +'d), Ive found the copy icon (blue) and when I select this it says something like "put your VCR onto record". Is it possible to buy a DVD recorder or similar so that I could transfer films etc onto a disc, also what cables would I need from the Sky + box to said appliance that could record.

Many thanks for any help

Yep, easy, just Scart to Scart. Same as you would have done recording onto VHS

As easy as that ?, Just connect the DVD recorder to the + box with scart leads ? What about encryption or decryption etc, do you just put a blank disc in the DVD, and press record on the DVD recorder ?, what type of blank discs ?, Any idea what models of DVD player will do this,or will all DVD recorders do it, (Sony, Panasonic, etc etc ?)

Many thanks anyway lads

I've never come across any encryption preventing me from recording stuff. I understand there may be encryption on PPV broadcasts, like Box Office movies.

It's exactly as you say, put in a disc, chose which recording mode to use (I generally use 2hr mode) play your Sky+ recording and press record on the DVD recorder. Just use whatever disc is supported by your recorder. I tend to use normal cheap single layer DVD-R's.

Once it's recorded I load them onto the PC, edit the adverts and re-burn.

Yes.... this is exactly what I do for films I want to keep.

Pay Per View though.... forget it!

BTW.... if you are buying a recorder, buy one that has user defined recording time for each disc like the Panasonics. Means you can get the best encoding rate per film.

It is possible to copy PPV to. But you will need an s-video capture card for your PC, to grab the program as it happens, before burning to DVDR.
