Default How to put microsoft office on netbook?

Hi all, just wandered down to my local shop to get a Samsung NC 10 (see other thread) and it occured to me how do I put Microsoft office that I have on CD, as there is no drive?

Can I copy the files to a flash drive or similar? I can't be the only person to come across this problem?

Cheers,

Chop

Use this>

Download CloneCD 5.3.1.3 - FileHippo.com

Then transfer the ISO via a patch cable between the two computers or over your network. You will then have to mount the ISO with something like>

Download DAEMON Tools Lite 4.30.3 - FileHippo.com

Not a difficult task.

But personally I would just install Open Office as it uses less resources and is easier to use and its free.

Download OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 RC2 - FileHippo.com

Above, or copy the installation files to a USB stick. You can use a USB external CD/DVD drive too.

Good idea, you could also download the trial from Microsoft itself, if you have Office 2007>

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/pr...741481033.aspx

Then just use your key to activate it.

I do have office 07 so that could be a great idea. I was given it by a helpful SN user , are there any issues with this. i.e. microsoft checking codes?

Thanks for posting,

That's the simplest IMHO, and exactly what I did to install Office on my Eee PC.

You can just copy the files from the cd onto a memory stick and run setup from there (can be quicker than over the network).

I copied files to a memory stick and although not installed yet it seems to have transferred all relevant install fiiles without any issues.

Thanks,

James

I have Office on my NC10 and I simply copied the CD to a USB stick and installed from there.

Cheers
