Ideally I'm after a plug sized ups (battery powered), which I can plug a device into. So I will offer a battery backup, it doesnt require much power, similair consumption to a clock.

anyone know of any?

Any battery that goes in a plug sized box isn't going to give much power so not many would be made, smallest commercially available would be something like this I'd have thought:

there not that big... toaster sized and grey/black
