I did and found out all XBoxs have a 3yr warranty, checked the build date on the back of yours. No receipt is needed. I had 3 red lights and they sent a courier to collect mine a week ago, today i get a brand new one back with 3yrs warranty !

From research there was a known issue with the soldering of lots of early boxes hence the 3yr warranty and no nonsense swap out.

Very impressed as I thought it would have to be binned

Just read yours is pwr supply rather than ring of death.

Still 3yr warranty.

i thought that the 3 year warranty was for rrod only

The 3 year extended warranty is only for 'hardware fault' which is commonly know as RROD or red ring of death (3 flashing red lights on console)

The standard warranty is only 1 year.


The best thing to do is to ring the xbox helpdesk and tell them your problem, they might class it as a hardware fault and repair FOC.
