CoD can you jump straight in or do you have to start from number 1

Will be getting my PS3 Xma and quite fancy getting one of these games, now, do I need to start at COD1 and work through or can I get 4 and play straight away.

Just jump in and play. Not even sure you can get back catalogue. Either way CoD3 was waste of time.

Id suggest starting with 4 and see how you get on. Then try 5 if you liked it (I personally didnt bother as prefer the modern weapons).

I never played 1,2 or 3 started at 4 loved it played 5 hated it each to there own roll on 6

started on 2, then jumped to 4 = the proper gamers way of doing the COD thing

4 is nothing like the others anyway, it could be a new game with different title.

4 is gaming nirvana - If you are online obviously.

I approached 5 (World at war) with trepidation due to the odd number and therefore not infinity ward, but whaddya know it great too. Not as great as CoD4, but with a year of modern combat under my belt, it makes a nice change.

Started on cod3, started online gaming on cod4, on cod5 online now and loving every minute, its an awesome game Cod3 when I first got it I wasnt online and the game was brilliant I thought

Played 2, 3 & 4.

3 was a poor game but 2 and 4 rock big style

2's worth playing for the Normandy beach landing or was that 1? Haven't played 3, but 4 is excellent, 5 is not so good.
