Played CS all of Thursday night everything was fine. Set up a few things to download on Direct Connect then went back to play a bit of CS. Then it happened...
My view moves in fits and starts. for a few seconds it's fine then the movement will be locked in that direction (and movement too) for a second or so.
At first I put it down to using DC and playing CS. I haven't tried it until yesterday but I get exactly the same symtoms. I've double checked nothing is running in the background and I've reinstalled the mouse drivers and the graphics drivers.
I've given that Die hard demo a quick go and it's exactly the same on there I've also tried the mouse in another machine and it works fine in CS.
I've uninstalled Direct Connect now too, anyone have any idea what I could try next?
Matt

Hm, your first symptoms sound like plain old lag, downloading and playing online games is never a good idea, there isnt enough bandwidth through your modem to do both without some serious slowdowns.
Why is should stay like that I dont know..
Sure you havent got anything else using your connection?

It's not lag cause I get it when running that Die Hard demo which is an off line game.
I'm completely baffled by it because it was fine one minute, then without any reason (i.e. me doing something stupid)

Probably unrelated, but, I find on my system (XP Pro & Direct Connect) when you close the program it appears to have closed, not in the system tray or taskbar, but if you go to task manager it is still running (!) The only way to properly stop it is kill the process
