Can't get Vista x64 to install an x64 app...
Got Vista Ultimate x64 and I'm trying to install AutoCAD 2009 x64 onto it but having problems.
The first time I installed it, it was going fine until it tried to add some fonts but gave me an error message about registering them, Retry & Ignore did nothing, all I could do was Abort. I then found out that some updates had been going on in the background and needed a reboot.
after doing the reboot, autocad just will not install at all - it keeps giving me an error message about checking that the app is x64 and that I'm using an x64 OS. If I right click on the setup.exe file and select "Run As Administrator" it tells me that it can't even find the file I've just clicked on...
Any solutions to this, I really need to get this up and running tonight. Failing this, can I get a 32 bit version on there instead?

If its a legit version you could always try calling their support, if not, its reinstall time. If its a dodgy version, it could be shagged whatever you do I guess.
Grab something like Complete hard disk recovery solution, backup, drive copy, clone and image computer software after you install a fresh vista then make a backup of your install. You'll then be able to roll back to exactly what you had before you started installing apps so save yourself an hour or whatever every time.
G'luck
