Question

I am thinking about buying the above. It looks good value for money and was wondering if anyone can give me some feedback from experience.

Regards,
Shaun.

This is only a view on their network, not ADSL (no experience).

I was on pipex 56K and then ISDN for a couple of years. Always on and quick. I left coz it was expensive, but it was an excellent service in hindsight - should've stayed.

My ADSL came on lastnight, initial impressions are good, connected first time and did not drop out during the night. First few downloads jumped about from 40-80K but that was with download accelerator and I forgot to change the setting from 56k

Pipex have a good reputation as a quality business ISP, I haven't checked the ping rates yet but have heard that they are very good now that the new 155Meg pipe has been activated (I think it was only 30Meg before)

I'll have a good play about with it this weekend and report back on it.

There is a busy Pipex forum on ADSL Guide

I'm using it and it's fine.

Everything worked first time, and the link seems pretty stable.

Have called customer services once, technical support twice, all calls relating to small queries, more to test the system rather than with major queries, and each time I got through very quickly and got a satifactory response.

It took 8 days from ordering to being set up, which didn't cost a penny 'cause Pipex are paying the connection charges at the moment.

The best thing about wires only is that you can choose your own equipment, so I went for a Speedtouch 510 ADSL Router/Ethernet hub from DSLSource (whom I would also recommend), which went and set itself up with virtually no input from myself. Nice!

In summary: I have nothing but praise for PIPEX so far.

YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!
