Went to tescos at midnight not so long ago, expecting to be a sly gentleman and get cod5 there and then, as normally you can get released games after midnight, so anyway i went down there. original plan was not to wak straight into the games section like a geek upto the shelf and grab the game....so i strolled past with a cheeky glance towards the games aisle and kept walking on, browes for a minute or so then stealthily made my way towards the xbox section, only to find its not even on display so i look around bewildered....and notice two 30yr old + geeky looking guys with stubble and leather jackets who blatantly look like theyre there to buy the game too, but havent made their way down the aisle yet. And i notice a shop worker with a trolly putting things on shelves, so i ask her quietly "wheres cod5" and she then blew me away by saying they werent selected this time for a midnight release, what a joke! every other game except cod5! how gutted. so i said to the two middle ages guys nah they aint puttin it out and walked towards the exit to the store where a bunch of young lads in a chavved up fiesta looked at me like i was a gamehead geek (which i am, ha! lol) only for them to shut their mouths when i got into my car which was parked up right near the entrance and that they had been starin at all this time, muahahaha....at least that put a smile on my face....but i really AM pissed off two of my mates received the game on wednesday morning after orderng from play.com, its not fair!

We thought we'd try our luck in Asda an hour early. They are selling the game at midnight but wouldnt let me have it an hour early, so came home without it.

I had the beta when it first came out, finally got it, a mate tipped me off that it was available at the weston favell tescos so i drove over at half 2 am i think, lol. Honestly cant say how awesome the game is online, its quality, the maps are brilliant and the gameplay wow! level twenty and counting already lol

I would be interested to hear how you get on with COD5, I play COD4 on 360 quite a lot and I hear that 5 is not really as good as its the same engine etc and just new maps / guns etc. There wont be new gfx engine till 6, so I read somewhere... not that I am a game geek type person... <insertamsuinghtmlcodehere>

a work mate rang me and asked if i wanted to go at midnight ,so we went to asda and que'd up at 11.40 pm and i would say there was at least 200 people .i got 2 at £27 each

Best early purchase I had was on Gran Turismo on the Playstation2.

Went to the local Tesco the morning before it was released. Just walking through the game section and a nice old lady was filling the shelves up with the game.

I took one.

Bought it.

Put it in the car.

Went back onto the store and informed them that it is a 'very naughty thing to do' - stocking the shelves with a game before its release.

They then took it off the shelves.

3 of my mates wanted me to get them a copy whilst I was there but they were only allowing one copy per person! Oh well, I've got mine, sorry chaps!

The game is quality i think, theres a change from cod4...people may think cod5 isnt at good, but u forget the games are made by two different producers (or whatever the gaming equivalent it, lol) and they are form two completely different era's. cod 5 is a nice refresh, new gameplay, new maps, different guns and bits and bobs. still a call of duty and the aim of the game is still there, its just in different settings! although cod4 is prob the best game on the 360, dont u find urself getting bored as to what to play on there? I even got bored of the new downloadable maps when they came out as it jus gets tiresome! havent even played the solo campaign on cod 5 yet, im gonna save it til after xmas and just level up online

The 'Asda at Home' near us were doing it cheap. They had loads for the PS3, but none for the 360 I ended up getting it from somewhere else for £35.
Despite originally getting GOW2 after not liking the Beta demo, i've sold GOW2 (didn't like it ) and now got COD5. So far, I think it's great, as good as COD4.
