This is really pee'ing me off now, am stuck on Belly of the Beast (Act 3) where you have to kill that bloody huge spider thing yet I keep being killed by wretches and I can't kill them. They jump right down next to you so have no time to aim or kill them first 
And this is on casual! How the **** do you kill wretches at point blank range?

I've bought it but determined not to open it until i've finished the first one. I need to sort out Live so I can ask for some help and do co-op - may be my only hope of finishing this side of Christmas.

shotgun is your friend on this bit. get that active reload going and then when you get chance rush in and shoot the beast. When you hear Wrenches are on the way gack off somewhere you can see them coming and despatch them before going back in. be aware where they come from though.

Do it the "easy" way. Get under the beast and shoot up into it's chin/throat, this makes it retreat, get it 3 maybe 4 times and it ends up on top of a lift, there's some large latches, one on each side, shoot those and down into the goop it goes, do it quick enough and the wretches don't even appear

Cheers for the replies. What is active reload? I will have to try getting underneath spidey and try that approach as standing back doing stomach hits followed by chin hits just wasn't working as wretches were coming straight after the spidey takes its first step back. Funny as the first attempt the wretches didn't come for ages, in fact until after I got it on that platform. Now though they come very very soon after starting and get me from all sides even though i'm on casual.

Active reload is when you press reload for the second time and you hit the small white band in the reload timer ..... your bullets get a damage boost.

Oh you were doing it the hard way 
Yeah get between it's legs and under it's belly the unleash the shotgun into it before going for the chin. Do that 3 times to force it back then blast the clamps to destroy the bridge it's on.
I found the hardest bit was after that when you get to the pumping station.

lol mate those days were very funny and playing until 2.30am on a school night was always asking for trouble plus the Mrs was never impressed. In fact you've just reminded me of the data centre geek who lived at home with his mum and he said we couldn't swear in case she heard so Meeks went right off on one
Always upfor a beer although not sure how/if I can get to the Still as not working in the City any more.

Haven't even read the instructions...... don't know all the controller commands

a colleague useof mine does not open new games until he'd finished the last!!!!!!
i'm unwrapping them outside the shop or at the traffic lights, so iwhen i get home it saves time!!!!
i can normally do.....

lol mate I don't think i've actually finished a game on a console so was determined to finish this one and COD4! I've still got the last 2 delta force games I haven't hardly touched and they've been on my desk years
