Anyone else hating the iPhone?
Hi
I was just wondering how everyone else was getting on with their iPhones? Personally mine drives me nuts. The email client is crap which is inconvenient but the real pain is it refusing to make or recieve calls half the time.
I am extremely fed up with Call Failed all the time. Is it me or is the 3G network a steaming pile of crap?
I've spoken to O2 who came up with usefull nuggets such as try a different phone (dont have one) or take it back to the shop who will send it off for repair (they may have a loan phone for me wtf?). This is crap service - with Vodafone if I had a fault they would send someone round with a new phone and swap it out.
Seriously tempted to parcel it up and send back with a letter saying it isn't fit for purpose!
Is it me??

It's you...
I've certainly not had any problems with mine. Used daily for email, web and calls and it's not missed a beat yet.
Maybe you got a duff phone! Have you upgraded to 2.1? This improved my 3G no end...

Not had any calls failed problems. And I use the e-mail daily (and a LOT) - although I wish it would do filtering!
I did have a problem with my original iPhone 3G after a firmwar update - lost Bluetooth and wireless.
My advice would be to forget O2 and take it straight to Apple if you have problems.

I haven't had any probs with my 3g iPhone - using it now! Best bet is to check you are using the latest firmware (2.1) this improved the 3g reception a great deal.
I only had 2 failed calls on firmware 2.0, it could be you are still on that, other than that try a hard reset.. Keeping home and sleep buttons pressed until it goes off completely ..

Interesting.
I am on 2.1.
I was expecting a few people saying how rubbish they are so maybe it is the phone. I'll try the apple route i think.
Thanks for the responses!

I really, really like the iPhone. Whenever I am out and about, I constantly grab my wifes to play with the internet or check my mail.
The lack of copy and paste is about the only thing that irritates me.

3G coverage depends on a few things, to start with, no network has decent 3G coverage in rural area's (though O2 does have Edge out there where other networks dont), then there is the ammount of users on the cell, unlike 2G cells, 3G cells "shrink" with useage (2G are fixed), or if your still having problems, return the phone to the shop you purchased it from and pick another one up

I just got mine on Friday, fooking A man it is one fine piece of kit, awesome!
Trouble is I cant leave it alone and keep running the batteries down in double quick time (even with the 2.1 update)

Whilst we're on the subject, my app store has moved to the US somehow and it won't download anything. Any ideas how to set it back? Google Earth has just come out - fancy a play.

Go to the main iTunes Store window, scroll to the bottom and you will see "My Store" with the country selected. Change that to UK, or whatever country you want (If it is set to UK, change it to US, then back to UK), then scroll up to the top and from the top-most list on the left there should be an item named "AppStore" select this and it should take you to the AppStore for the country you selected.

In the past 2 weeks, my iPhone 3G has experienced connectivity issues on either Edge or 3G, which has resulted in failed calls etc. Only way to recover the phone is to reboot it.
I'm running the latest offical firmware.

I hate the gps on mine it's slow and crap and even with it plugged into the car charger it still runs the battery down so totally useless for long journey navigation. Web browsing crashes for me too and pretty hacked off with it. Won't be buying another apple product after this. I went into one of their shops to tell them the issues and they said I had to make an appointment to see a tech specialist FFS. I don't live near their stores so have to make an appointment and drive a long way now just to speak to apple about it what **** customer service!

I've never needed a shop with Nokia, when ever one went wrong I sent it back to the service provider and they sent me a new one. Apple want you to jump through hoops before they even talk to you.
