Default PC keeps dropping connection problems :-(

After i've played round on the net for between 10 and 25 minutes it drops it's internet connection. I can still email as normal but can't access any websites. If i reboot all is fine again for a while. Any ideas?

Are you running this via a wireless router? If so it could be the router causing the drop outs/lack of wireless connection.

No, he can still send email ..

I'd say maybe a spyware issue ??

DNS is unlikely as its after 25 minutes .. Spyware could be recording and logging, can take a while to kick in.

Rebooting the PC would restart are spyware applications ...

its a known problem with various routers. The sky supplied netgear router for one suffers that exact problem. Connection works for a while then basically stops responding to web access (even though the dsl signal is still there)

Fair enough, all he needs to do is write down the IP address of say the BBC and then test it when the connection has dropped.

If it works DNS issue.
