Default Splitting MP3 files

Any recommendations for tools to split files?

I've got a few albums with "secret" tracks that are after minutes of silence after another song so would like to split into two, discarding the silence.

Quicktime Pro springs to mind, I've used it before to do exactly what you want, just a bit of cut, copy and paste involved.

cant remember if its "Audacity" or "Cdex"

one rips, the other one, you can chop & edit, great for creating ring tones

i use mp3directcut.exe

It has a graphical splitter instead of audio so you can actually see the silence drop off and slice where you want.

I make lots of ringtones using this
