Default Can't install Kaspersky because of AVG.

Had the free AVG installed and now want to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 - wont let me - says AVG is still installed.
I uninstalled AVG, deleted any AVG files and still Kaspersky wont install.

So went to Kaspersky website and tried to run the KLeaner AVG uninstaller and that wont run / work.

Any ideas?

Yes, you need to run REGEDIT to clean all registry keys left behind.
An Uninstaller should remove these, but not all do.

You need to look for all references of AVG in your registry to clean this and delete from your system.

Be very careful editing the registry though delete the wrong thing and you can bugger the whole computer up

Yes you can mess things up, but no more than having no AV, considering the virii/malware you can get from surfing etc.

Am assuming OP is literate with REGEDIT, hence I stated to remove AVG references only.
