Trying to find a web dev to work on profit share.
I'm looking for a bit of advise.
I have just managed to snag a domain to what I believe has the ability to be a very popular site:
lanparty.co.uk
I'm personally interested in the LAN Parties as I've been running my own events for about 10 years.
The US Site lanparty.com used to be very popular, but has since fallen into demise. It has just been taken over by a new owner, and they are promising to re-launch it.
LAN Parties in the UK are becoming more popular as time passes. There are atleast 40 Small UK LAN (up to 50) events & 4 large ones (up to 2000).
So, bottom line is I'm looking for a skilled web developer to help me get this site off the ground. I would be looking to offer the web-dev a share of the profits generated by the site (both from ad-revenue & from LAN Party host subscriptions).
Is this something which is realistic both in terms of what I am offering & what devs are willing to do?
Opinions?
Jason

Hello
It depends. Anyone 'serious' wouldn't be interested as they have bills to pay. You may find someone who does it as a hobby or as a learning experience (perhaps someone studying Web Design).
How complex do you want the site to be?

Not overly. Most of the back end can probably got off the shelf. Main functionality would be:
- Forums
- News page
- LAN Party list (where users can subscribe their own events)
- Review / News subscription
- Covert Adverts scheme (text based ads)
- Overt adverts scheme (banners et al)
- Referrals / Cross links
- Guide to "hosting events"
I'm sure a few other bits will materialize over time.
