Turn off the pc.

Turn on the pc and hit DEL or F8 (whatever gets you into your bios)

go through the bios settings until you come to the LAN settings.

Its prolly turned off, so turn it on,

It will be something like enable onboard lan or wake on lan or both

Mart

My nipper had the same, this was how we resolved his.

Failing that test - try going to 192.168.1.1 in a browser and see if you can access the router's diagnostic screen - if you can't it's more likely the setup of the LAN card in your PC than the router.

I'm curious - how did you set up the wireless settings of the router without being able to connect via a cable!!?

When i set up my belkin router, the only way i could connect was via wireless from the wifes lappy, this was due to me setting an exclusive ip for the router. (trying to stream to the xbox) lol. Once i,d discovered that, i set the ip to a non exclusive ip, and could connect via the main pc/ethernet.

my moneys on his lan being turned off via bios
