Default AVG Anti Virus 8 - any good

Been using the AVG Free stuff for a while but need fuller protection - was going to go for this but interested to hear comments.

Kaspersky seems to come out well in tests and I am deffo going to avoid Norton (slows PC down) and McAfee any good?

Cheers.

Had to rescue machines with AVG 8 installed. Not impressed at all. Nod32 gets my vote as well

I used to be a fan of the earlier AVG. Now however I am not as although frequent updates a machine still got infected and it couldnt remove it. I am currently trying out bitdefender and that seems okay and has got good reviews

AVG ain't that great.

If it's any use I have just purchased Kaspersky again (years subscription just ran out).

Got it from here - Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 3 PC/ 1yr License - eBay (item 180273175994 end time Aug-06-08 16:07:22 PDT) They e-mail you the download link & your license code. It's a 3 user license too so handy if you have a few home PC's etc.

Worked out to just over £7 so billy bargain me thinks, works a treat. Nice thing with Kaspersky is you don't even know it's on your system, no norton type slowness!!

Plus its good and detecting virus's/spyware etc

You can download a free FULL 30 trial should you want to test kaspersky before buying.
