Gran Turismo 5 delayed - might not be out before 2010
According to reports at E3 (a trade show for games, currently on at the moment) Gran Turismo's creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, has stated his team are working on GT5:Prologue at the moment, with a big update happening shortly (collision damage?).
He said the full game, Gran Turismo 5 might not even make it on shelves before 2010, D'oh!

Perhaps DLC (downloadable content) is becoming king?
It was noted a while back in Korea (where piracy is rife) that developers were losing fortunes from pirated copies of their games. They changed their business model to reflect that and instead made their money from downloadable add-ons. Western developers have speculated that's where their industry is heading.
Not that the Gran Turismo franchise has ever suffered badly from piracy, but it's interesting to note their development team is more or less totally focussed on Prologue right now.

the reason that most of the team might be concentrating on prologue, is that the time consuming process at the moment is modelling the cars. I don`t know how hard it is to model a skyline and then produce 50 variants of the same car. So all the other people, programmers, physics experts, game designers etc, wll be at a loose end most of the time. So they can be put to use coming up with ideas, and trying them out in prologue to see how well they are recieved. Then if all is good it will make it into the final game, if not it will mysteriously disapear from the final version. But 2010, come on guys pull your thumbs out of your *****, this is going to be the game that sell shedloads of ps3`s. Even if it bombs it will certainly sell over 1 million copies. I`m getting bored of prologue now, it`s getting like grinding in WOW, getting enough money to buy the F40 and the F1 car.

Rather than gloating, I actually feel sorry for PS3 owners who bought the console for GT5 in the understanding it was coming out this year/early next year.
If Sony had lost the HD format war I wonder what might have become of the PS3?

I only have Prologue and Indianna Jones on the PS3. I think Prologue is great. Took the 360 wheel off my racing seat and put the DFP on and I found it better than Forza 2 and I absolutely love Forza 2. I played Forza 2 straight after my first go on Prologue and was shocked by how different it felt after playing Prologue. Obviously the depth of Forza 2 is massive and the SN races we used to have were the best online gaming i've had but I have been really impressed with the shiny graphics of Prologue and the physics are still good.

I've got 2 360's that i've got plenty of games on but didn't stop me wanting a PS3 for console specific games and blu-ray. I refuse to be a fanboy of either side and have always had each console because they have all had advantages over each other.

I may try it if I see it in a bargin bin somewhere, but seeing as I get frustrated with cut-scenes that are any longer than 20-30 seconds long, (I thought the ones in GTA4 were too long) I don't think I could cope with the ones in MGS4. I want to play games, not watch a dodgy movie

- Some of them are very very good, but some drag on.Give it a rent if you can.
I'm on my second play through now, and its one of those rare games that is actually better the seond time through. You are much better at it, and you can skip cut scenes you don't want to see. I'm currently going through on the hardest difficultly without killing anyone
