Since I installed the new version of Mozilla Firefox, it's been taking an age to start up from first. For example, I've just been into it, and uninstalled three add-ons, then restarted the computer.

From clicking on the icon, it took 2min 45 seconds to fully install the internet, and allow me to browse.

It usually takes 30 seconds, or more, even when the computer has been on for a while and t'internet has already been used that session. First starts often take well over a minute;(

Have I done something wrong? And how can I speed it up, please?

I have Virgin 10mb connection, and am running AVG 8.0, if that helps?

What version do you have, i've got 2.0.0.15 and it runs fine

Do you need AVG 8.0 as virgin has it's own anti virus as part of the PC guard software

Install the internet eh 2mins 45 is pretty dam good to load the net

But srsly I would try a reinstall of ffox, defrag your hdd, make sure there is enough space on your drive, make sure swap file is ok etc etc.

Or install ffox 3 it's a fair bit quicker than v2 as well.
