Vodafone USB Internet
Just wondering if anyone else is using this type of connection or similar and their views on it.
I use mine for when I'm on camp or on a course and so far its been pretty good, slightly slow just now though.

That's what I'm using the 7.2Mb it was fairly quick earlier but it does swing up and down.
Still its better than the 0Mb i had previously as i always missed out on the in depth constructive debates on here.

I use T-mobile's USB modem and think it is great. I don't use it for downloading vast amounts of data so the speed is fine, more just checking my email and playing with the Web when travelling around. Certainly I don't use the 3gb/month.
The advantage with T-Mobile is that they had (have?) an offer where for the £15/month you also got wireless hotspot access with I use for my Ipod Touch.

I save all my major downloads and updates until I get home with proper broadband, I can't see me getting close to the 5Gb limit either and i got the first 6 months for free so it's not all bad.

Yep I use the Vodafone USB and it's quick enough for e-mail etc. Doesn't seem to drop the connection so much as the old devices used to either - constant connection on the train from Bristol to London

I was using a Customers 3 usb connection for a couple of weeks which she pays £15pm for. It had an average of 3.6 so was reasonably quick too. Never had any connection issues was ideal TBH

I was wondering about how good these things are. I'm about to take the plunge and get one for my new laptop. I was wondering how fast they were, as the advertised speed of 7.2Mbps is significantly faster than a lot of broadband packages.
I did expect there to be a catch somewhere. Has anyone tried online gaming, are the pings low?

As these are using the same footprint as vodafone's masts am i right in thinking that if there is an increase in gprs/3g usage my connection will slow dramatically?
Hope so because it has died a death at the minute lol.
