Question

Have you got more than 1 USB connection you can try ?

Does anything else work when plugged into USB ?

Is the camera switched on ?

Printer is plugged into the other socket. The camera comes on automatically when you connect it to p.c. Unfortunately the camera is not the same type as the one illustrated in the p.c. manual which has switchable settings for downloading etc.
Gonna try swapping plugs tomorrow ...if I carry on tonight the whole lot is gonna end up launched into the garden !!!

I had a similar problem with a faulty USB socket. Turns out it was not connected correctly to the motherboard. The numpty who built the PC had only connected up the "one USB" option.....

Ummm, that's be me then

I got a disc with the camera drivers on it although it said this should be for backup use only. However I installed it yesterday and it seemed to work but when I checked the files the instructions said should be in device manager once it had been installed they are not there.

I've got 3 digital cameras. A cheap one for the kids that only lets you download images through it's own software. The other 2 appear as a removable drive so you can access them just the same as a fixed drive eg. through Windows Explorer.

How are you trying to access the images ?
