Just got one of these, installed it, rebooted, now my account has been suspended due to a payment problem

logged into xbox.com to check and i am paid up until feb 2009
emailed tech support, currently waiting for a reply

i can log in with my other profile fine?

Yeah we all updated lasty night and the GHOW games have been very laggy since.

Last big update both my best friend and I updated our Xboxes, rebooted and both were dead with the red rings of death !

The updates always worry me now !

That happened to me last big update, I also now hate seeing the update warning !!

A few minutes ago, the team released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll recieve a prompt to accept this mandatory update. This update contains code to ‘prepare for future growth of the service.’ There are no other changes or enhancements in this update…in other words no new features. The next obvious question you’ll have is about the Spring update. At this point we have nothing to announce, and the moment there is information to share I will do so.

xbox.com have my next renewal date set as february 2009 paying by card

this card i originally used has now expired, but i had a new card on file, it looks like xboxlive tried to bill me for 12 months in february, but it did not go through (cant find any payment in my online banking) and its took them 2 months to suspend my account.

i paid via the other debit card that was on file last night and the account was then reinstated.

still making sure i defo did not pay for 12 months back in february, looks like i might have gotten a few months for free

i bought the 360 with some argos vouchers i had got for xmas, and was on live within a month iirc


looks like my problem was pure coincidence

strange thing is xbox.com still says this

if you need to sunscribe again try this ebay seller, alot of other forum members on avforums have been using it with no problems cheaper that microsoft too

It does say that if XBOX Live is offline for updates etc. Its a pain but we all have to live with it. i just go to career mode and get money & buy faster cars for when the Live is up again lol

my elite crashed twice after this update. which worries me as its about 5 months old and i haven't had an xbox last over 6months yet!!!

mine is all sorted anyway, but i do think live is down today for 8 hours, which is perfect, as I'm going home at lunchtime to play through army of two for the second time and my AI partner is behaving perfectly

tried to play forza2 today but it won't let me as my Username has downable content!!! WTF yes it does and i have DOWNLOADED IT so why should i have my xbox connected to xbox live in order to play a game i bought!!!

I get one day off a week and microsoft decide to **** me off on it!!!

Eh? so because you have the car packs etc you need to be on Live in order for the game to play?

Can you play if you don't sign in? Can you play if you remove the HD?

i also did that "preform maintenance" on the 360 hard drive when i was having problems, not sure if its wiped all my downloaded packs ? i do know its supposes to wipe any game updates so they need downloaded again

finally got a message back from xbl tech support which basically said "ring us" good job i sorted it out myself
