I'm planning on moving my ISP to Sky from Tiscali. I beleive they are a pain in the **** to leave?

What problems may I encounter?

i could not connect for 2 months, so tried to tell them i was leaving, ended up with them sending the creditors after me for £16 as i did not pay (after i could not connect for 2 months )

i think they were arsey about getting the migration code as well.

plan your leaving, well in advance, would be my advice

i thought i had heard somewhere that Oftel were trying to make this process easier for customers......

if you're outside your contract period, this should not be an issue. I moved from Orange to Sky and it was pretty painless.

Make it fun for them, use their creditors to claim back money owed for the lack of service, that'll stop them extracting the urine

We cancelled our recent Tiscali service without any issues.

Didnt have to go down the MAC CODE route as we were leaving a property and left that for the new owners.

Just wonder how the free evening and w/end calls work with sky ?? ie. does your telephone plug into a small adapter box to route the calls via a certain number or what ??

A work of warning to any of you who are looking at all in one deals.

Tiscali are offering free line rental along with a raft of other stuff,

however there is a catch...........

on making inquiries, it transpires that "nothing to do, we handle it all" is actually:

We cancel your account with BT, and take over the billing!

all well and good??

erm no. If you decide you want to go elsewhere, or back to BT, you no longer have an account with them, and will be charged £125 for a new line.

The ISP's who offered the all in one deal wont do the free line rental if you dont take there full package ( ie drop the BB or calls ) , so you have to pay whatever they want to charge for line rental,

Alright nathan

My move from Tiscali to Sky was trouble free, i was emailed my MAC code within 48 hours, i gave the code to Sky and they took it from there.

During the change over i think i was offline for about 3 hours, i unboxed the Sky router, plugged it into my line and powered it up and i was away, no setting up or anything!
