Default Best DSL Cable router

Having cable BB installed today (just in time, BT BB is so crap today I'm getting 250k connections!!!!! Yes that's a whopping 5 times 56k dial up ). Soon up to 20meg!! whoopee.

Anyway, it doesn't come with a wireless router, just a std modem. Anyone recommend anything decent that I can get from some shop (there's a pcworld a couple of miles away) so I can have everything running again (Can't wait for mail/internet order as I work from home most days so need all 3 computers connected etc.)

£30-£50;

Do you want a wireless network or a wired one?

And do the machines you have in place all have wireless capability? If not you are going to have to add in budget for wireless adapters.

Amazon.co.uk: Netgear WG111 Wireless 54Mbps USB 2.0 Adapter: Electronics & Photo

The one you suggest is currently top of my initial list too!! Do you know how better (or not) it is compared to others or are they all much of a muchness, all doing the same thing at the end of the day.

Nice and easy then - You can get cheaper routers, but in my experience, Netgear stuff is pretty reliable. Other may have different opinions.

Cool

£30-50 isnt much of a budget for a quality router I'm afraid but if you can up the budget I've found the Drayteks to be very reliable and good value for money too.

As above, just personal preference/experience. I have done lots of wireless networks for freinds and family etc, using all manner of Belkins and Linskys and what have you - The only one that consistantly is a breeze for me is the netgear stuff - Much more new user friendly too.
