Hi All, anyone used with success a tool to recover deleted files from a disk, our commercial manager managed to delete their 'My Documents' where they stored some 18 months of work .

Ontrack Easy Recover, works a treat, I had to use it when a former employee decided to wipe his entire laptop on his last day, it had a lot of our customers Switch & Router configs on
Luckily got everything back we needed

Have been watching this thread with interest !! recently reinstalled windows xp / pc back to factory spec , with the aid off this " GETDATBACK " software just what are the chances off getting back the photos I had saved within my photo album " Kodak " easyshare prior to carrying out the re-install ??
just what would be the steps that I would need to do to start looking for these particular files with this particular programme - easy enough once the relevant files had been recovered to actually restore the photographs back to my pc ??
any advice would certainly be much appreciatted.
cheers

Ideally you want to boot from either a Bootable CD (eg BartPE) or take you drive out and put it in an enclosure on another machine with GetDataBack installed.
Then just run the software and see. I believe there is a free trial that will show you the files that can be recovered. Full details - including help on adding the software to BartPE are on the runtime website. Just make sure you have the version for your filesystem (NTFS or Fat32)
