Default Pop up windows ??

Help, whilst using internet explorer I keep getting pop up windows ( 888 poker.com etc ) the top toolbar is showing as pop ups blocked but for some reason some are getting thru ?? have ran " spybot search and destroy " and also " ad-aware 2007 " and cleaned out what was found but still the problem continues every so often.

anything else I could try ?? any pop up blocker better than the standard windows xp version ??

lastly worth moving over to firefox browser - less hassle or stay with ie ??

p.s just to say that from what I am seeing its not so much pop up windows its also a case off when changing from one website to another the advert page will just load up, pressing x in the top corner will delete the page and take you back to the wanted page

a few mixed reviews about the free edition off this particular software but again will give it a try.

Okay just a quick update, whilst changing from scoobynet to another website just now the pop up stopper kicked in and prevented another window from opening - good stuff but should the two above spyware programmes not have got rid off all this stuff in the first place ??!!

the site I was visting it not dodgy and has never before given pop up windows so the spyware is obviously still on my actual pc.

Okat thanks yep tried that as well !! but happy to say that giving up on the above two spyware software programmes and trying Superantispyware unbeliavably it found 80 items that were not found by the other two programmes !! anyway ran this superantispyware, cleaned it all out and have not had one single pop up since- fingers crossed !!!

To be honest mate I have not, recently reformatted my pc and within just a day or two the crap was on the machine, possibly something to do with the bit off software " borrowed " from one off the torrent sites ??!!

Okay yep just had another look, the only things I can see about the pro version compared to the free version is that it gives you real time bloacking off spyware etc and the abilty too set an automatic scan off your systmn, not really a lot over the free version or is it ??!!

I even see this pro edition off this very software is even availble via torrent just dont get any spyware / malware etc d/loading it if you do !!
