Is there a add on for either of these browsers so that i can synchronizer the bookmarks & favorites between each other

you can import your IE bookmarks into firefox.

I recently installed Firefox in work, and it imported my IE favourites automatically.

Yep but it only does it the first time you install firefox. I have noticed the same, if you use both browsers then there is an issue where you can't mirror the favourites/bookamrks from one another.
