Firefox 1.0 preview release is out, if you haven't junked that useless piece cud IE yet then now's a good time

Also, if you're doing web development, download the web developer extension for Firefox. It's flippin useful - view css for a page, click on a piece of text and it'll tell you what style it's using, view paths for all images, html / css validation, plus much more....

Don't know how I got on without it

I use Avantbrowser, how does Firefox compare to that?

As I understand it - Avantbrowser is like an extension of IE (I think you need to have at least IE 5.5 installed for Avant to work). It is basically IE with a few modifications - so many of the problems of IE still exist.

Firefox is a totally separate browser. Much improved since I first used it about 8 months ago. Release 1.0 is stable and quick. Much prefer it to IE 6.

Can you have it automatically start Fave's (from Bookmarks or the menu bar) start in a new tab?
