Graphics card help needed !
Following on from my previous thread about my dodgy agp connector on my Dell Dimension 8300 motherboard,I have bought a second hand motherboard but it turns out the dodgy connection on the old 'board fried my brand new Ati Radeon X1650 graphics card
Before I fork out for another X1650,does anyone know what the minimum power supply is that it requires ?
My Dell has a 250W power supply.

sorry to hear that
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro PCIe
"1/30/07 – While video card graphics have consistently required additional power, the Radeon X1650 Pro does not require any addition external power connectors. All of the necessary power is provided through the PCI-Express. This is great news for those that may have an older PCI Express based computer system with a smaller power supply. The system only needs roughly a 350W power supply to sufficiently power the card. "

As my Dells power supply is only 250W,will it be able to run this card or not ?
I only bought it because it was recommended to me from someone on Build-your-own who had fitted it to their Dell !
What other cards could I buy that are fairly decent for similar money upto £50ish,must be AGP ?

No, I would go and get a 350W-400W power supply as per the recommendation. Best not to skimp on the PSU!
As for AGP, this round-up says the Radeon 2600 XT is your best bet for your budget and uses the AGP interface
AGP Cards for ~£100 : The Best Gaming Graphics Cards for Your Money: February 2008
Can be bought here for around £57.99 + VAT

I don't want to be upgrading the PSU aswell, spent too much money on this pc already,it's only going to be a spare while I build my new one !!
Will the graphics card you have suggested be ok with my 250W PSU ?
