Just a couple of quick questions

1. I plugged everything in and fired it up and clicked the internet explorer button and the internet apearerd !! AOL Home page..how did the PC know I'm on AOL ??

2. Where are my e-mails stored by AOL on my old PC?

Cheers

Shaun

Fair enough !!

Not everybody likes AOL

I started with AOL about 10 years ago and whenever I turned the PC on it was there...as it is today

my kids have AOL e-mail adresses which they can always access

My question was about how Vista knew I had an AOL account and how to retrieve my old e-mail

Shaun by chance are you now using a wireless router ?

if you are it sounds like you have no security set on it and your pc needs no other settings ... your neighbours will have the same untill you secure it

emails - Im guessing as i never use AOL, but they should be stored on the sever

window washer - if you keep off the **** sites you wont need to wash it

if i remember correctly email storage is a user option.

you can save on your pc or on aol. depends how it was set up

if your new hp jobbie had aol bundled on that may explain y it was the homepage on ie
