Default Just Ordered Myself A New Computer

Been looking for a new base unit for a while as my current one is getting on a bit...

Had a budget of about £500, but I do like playing the odd on line games (COD4 Unreal Torn 3).

Anyway £500 doesn't really get you much in the way of a gaming machine, but I found this

Find a Notebook, Desktop, Server, Printer, Software, Service or Monitor at Dell.

Then found a a discount code to bring the price down by 10% to

£584.10

and sold my old base unit to my brother for £130

i`m well out of the loop when it comes to speccing up a new pc, last one i built was a athlon xp2500 with a 9700pro gfx card (what i`m posting from)

but is the above machine reasonable for the cash?

i have nothing really to "upgrade" left on my machine as its a bit past it, so figured the next time around i would just buy a ready made machine and be done with it/not have to research all the latest specs and jargon.

I know bob all about computers but my bro does and he thought it was good value for what you get, bearing in mind it's HD&Bluray compatable. I was gonna plug it straight into my LCD TV so would be perfect really.

Its a nice machine.. only issue is Dell uses the cheapest parts.. it'll do the job easily though !!! My Dell is great..

Have you noticed memory amounts sticking at 3GB.. becuase to use 4GB you need a 64 bit OS and Dell etc dont wanna pay out for it !

Maybe they're avoiding 64 bit OS's to cut down on the additional support "issues" it would give them to deal with.

Who cares 3GB is plenty for 32bit XP and/or Vista. Theres nothing much out there to warrant using 64bit anyways.
