What do I do - some internet spammer is using my email address
This one is really annoying me
I login to my email account this morning, only to find a whole bunch of delivery failure messages. The sender of these messages being me Except I never actually sent them.
The body of the text is pure spam, and has nothing to do with me.

Possibility 1) is that they have hacked my account. Password is now changed. However, I believe they have faked the return field of the email they sent. This of course means there is little I can do my end to stop this. Anyone have any ideas?

i'm assuming they're just spoofing email addresses at random, theres nothing you can do apart from using spam filters such as Spambeyes if you run outlook on pc, or some sort of server side spam filter that your ISP may run.

OK, thanks people. I don't like what you have told me, but I do like the fact you took the time to say it
Its a total pain, as I am currently setting up a computer support firm (aimed at providing on site support for homeusers). These people are not the most sophisticated users, and keep thinking I am sending them this carp
