Zip drive driver stuffed windows 2000
#1
Trying to upgrade my parents in law's PC to windows 2000. Was up and working fine until I installed the windows 2000 driver for their internal ZIP drive from Iomega.
The PC would get as far as the blue-ish screen after the start up and then reboot.
Easy says me, go into safemode and get rid of it.
No PC did the same in safe mode, command line, etc etc. Debug showed that the driver IOMega.sys was the last driver loaded in the start up list.
After much head scratching I had to reboot from CDROM and re-install
But was there a cleverer way of stopping it loading the driver, when all I could get into was the basic DOS prompt?

Win 2000 supported my IDE 100MB Zip Internal without installing any drivers. I remember the Iomega NT drivers being iffy, so I avoided installing anything offered by Iomega for W2000.
