Question BT ADSL problem

I have recently had an ADSL line activated from BT, but having major trouble getting it to work.

I have tried 2 different routers, both show the ADSL as synched but cannot get a WAN connection.

I'm fairly IT literate and have setup wireless networks before so pretty much know what I'm doing but really struggling here.

I have double checked the settings and userid and password provided match.

I'm using PPPoA, 0/38, VC-MUX and also changed it to use G.DMT.

Can anyone shed any light??

Cheers

The router does not pick up an IP address.
The logs dont show much, cant see it from here but something along the lines of ATM1 started, and thats about it.

Have you checked the router stats for line attenuation and signal to noise ratio?

It's possible for the adsl line to sync but because of the poor quality connection it's not possible to log onto the WAN.
