Download a copy of VLC and see if they will play the files. What is the extension on the files that won't play? I downloaded a torrent of last nights TopGear episode and it played without issue in VLC.

I know you removed divx files earlier, it could well be that RP is requiring the divx codecs which you removed. There is an updated Divx player for Leopard which you can download here

VLC is a media player. It basically handles all types of different media, be it audio or video. There are the odd files I have that QuickTime won't play, but VLC handles with no problem at all.
