Default Good, quick, robust ADSL router for NON-NAT use?

Hi folks, just a quick one. Due to an ongoing issue at work with a line that we use solely for site to site vpn links unlike the client to site links we use on the others, I am after a decent and robust router that is fast too when handling 5-6 people vpn'ing through at various times during the day.
As the title says, NON-NAT config so all it has to do is allow data in and out efficiently. Needs to have a switch built in as we use a lot of ip telephony on the line so 'ping is king' . Been using the old EN5861 routers back in the day on that line and then slapped in the rubbish alcatel freebie Demon sent us when we renewed the line and upgraded to max. I only used it because of the switch but we need something better that can properly handle multiple users etc connecting through at once and VPN/TS/PHONE traffic.

Cheers,

Nick .

We use Speedtouch 546s v6 for No-NAT requirements (eg paired with a SonicWall or fronting up a VoIP PBX). Have always been solid - we used them when they were the 510 v4 and then moved through into the 546 series. Needs a bit of command line config to kill the built in firewall totally and alow remote management but I've got that documentated now.

PS. I hope your Alcatel freebit isn't a Speedtouch!

They sent us a Speedtouch ST585 which I just disabled the wireless on and killed off whatever else was obvious in the gui. I would expect that the cmd line/remote stuff will also work on this one. If you are saying these are solid enough then would you mind pm'ing me your config bits please? I would go and look it up but am in the process of ripping out the vpn and trying a copuple of other units (No, not the Linksys ones, thay all still work just fine thanks )

Cheers,

Nick

Agree with the speedtouch route. Though it was possible to kill the nat from the GUI though. Running a couple of these fronting onto bigger firewall/VPN units.

IMO the DrayTek Vigor 100 is the best modem to use for firewalls. It even supports pool of public IP's

Also agree with the above about the 546 being a good bridged router.

The Vigor 100 is a Ronseal piece of kit. As RR V2 says, goes great with a firewall and requires bugger all config.
