I have an HD LCD supports 1080p

I have downloaded 1080p test clips but is there anyway / software that can put them onto a normal dvd ?

I have encoded them to video ts files in order to play on a normal dvd player but by doing this it will reduce its 1080p quality will it not ???


or could I just connect a laptop to my lcd and play them that way without any loss.

or do you need it through a hdmi or a hd graphics card or something silly

Laptop would be the only way to do it other than a games console.

With the laptop to get 1080p your TV would need to accept that signal over VGA cable (unless your laptop has an HDMI out ?)

You can't put HD files onto a DVD (for use with a nomal DVD player) without down conversion.

You could hook up your computer to the TV with either a normal VGA cable (if your TV has a VGA connection) or a DVI-HDMI cable (assuming your computer has DVI connector)

Although you can put HD files on a dvd and play them back on the 360 HDDVD player. You need DVD moviefactory from Ulead though.

my tv has a vga connector which i have used before but supports 1024x768 xga

does a slightly higher in sxga or something but not vesa supported what ever that means

my pc has dvi as well as vga , if i used a dvi to hdmi converter cable would this give me maximum res my graphics card will allow ??

Yup, i do this myself for hd files and it runs lovely.

You could however try converting them to divx files at the highest quality, ive seen some hd content done this way and i must say whoever encoded it did a top job.

But yes ts files are the proper files, you could if you get desperate buy a br burner drive but personally id wait for the technology not to mention media capacity to mature.

If you can convert them to wmv-hd then the 360 will play them from a dvd, altho depending on the size they may not fit on a regular dvdr
