for christs sake don't unless you get the hard drive cleaned/formated by a expert! All your personal info (bank accounts, address, ect, ect) big issue with 2nd hand bits ending up in the hands of crims who steal your identity!

Apple Disc Utility will wipe your HDD and write all 1's or all 0's on every segment. For extra security, after that fill the entire HDD with something trivial so everything has been wiped and rewritten. Then try restoring something with Norton Utilities, it shouldn't find anything. Although, when my Mac was new I ran Nortons and found allsorts on my HDD

As said by others, Disk Utility will happily security erase the hard drive so nothing is left on it, we've done this and tested it before and can't fault it

I've had a very quick look on ebay and prices for your spec of machine range from between 200 - 500. Some Apple resellers might take the machine as trade in, I doubt the Apple Stores themselves would though. Might be worth seeing what resellers are in your area and asking them.

Unfortunate, but under £400 now gets you a faster 1.83ghz Intel Mini. May not have the upgradeability or graphics processing, but a great little machine for the cash. Progress

The slightly underhand and not to be recommended route is to drop it down the stairs and tell the insurance company you tripped over the cat.

Mate of mine did this and they sent him a cheque for £500 to replace it and didn't even question it...
