*Secure* file deletion?
Hi,
I'm after a secure file deletion utility. A quick search recommends:
Eraser - Free secure data erase tool to wipe files on your hard drive
Anyone else here recommend it? (I think it was boxst who mentioned it originally).
I will Google it but have a meeting first so any thoughts appreciated.
Oh, I use CCleaner anyway but that doesn't allow you to choose any file/folder which what I'd like.
Cheers
Dave

I still use Eraser, although nothing is 100%. If you REALLY don't want someone to ever see what was on the drive you have to dismantle it and burn the platters.
BURR can explain (scare you!).

Or what you can do is after deleting the file, load a couple of movies on your harddrive and delete them. Think of the data as FIFO, first in, first out, its impossible for the hdd to save all the data from day 1. Else as boxt says drop it, dismantle it and burn it.
