Got both, but I choose the 360 for gaming and the PS3 for other media, needs another 12 months I think before you can make a fair gaming comparison of the 2.
Having both certainly shows up the flaws each one has.

To be fair, there isn;t a huge difference between the two.
Live is slightly more integrated, and obviously you can see what firends are doing at any point. But then PSN works just as well with usernames and is of course, free.
They both do the main thing well - Let you play games online with a persistant username.

I think PSN as long way behind Live - no voice chat in Motorstorm is inexcuseable by todays standards. I was in voice chat with my brother-in-law while we figured out the bluetooth stuff and then went into Motorstorm only it wouldnt do it without closing the chat.
Hopefully, Sony will rectify these problems in the near future.

Yeah it all works fine - It breaks up when the race is loading - But other than that it works a beauty. THere was an update to download when I picked it up a month or two ago - Maybe that was changed?

I have Xbox but I would be prepared to buy a PS3 if a decent game came out I really wanted that wasn`t going to be on Xbox. But it would have to be a very good game, I`ve only had the Xbox a few months an hardly bother with it anymore. Got it for Forza2 and Dirt but have been left disinterested after the initial excitement.

>> From canada.com:
Nintendo's success with the Wii is a benefit to the gaming industry according to Microsoft.
In an interview with canada.com at this year's X07, Xbox Marketing VP Jeff Bell said that there was room in the marketplace for three consoles.
"I'd like to see the industry grow and be robust" said Bell. "In many ways, I'm thankful the Wii has been as successful as it has."
Bell also said that he doesn't have a problem with Wii and promoted the Wii-60 phenomenon which has caught on with many game fans, in which gamers buy both a Nintendo Wii and and Xbox 360 to cover both the hardcore and casual game groups.
"If the Wii does grow the market, good for all of us," said Bell. "I don't see any problem with a household that has both a Wii and a 360. In fact I would expect that you'd see that, as they are very different experiences."

As said by others, have a 360, (2 infact as I keep a spare LOL) and may buy a ps3 at some point, Live is where I spend most of my time with mates, if they all had a ps3 then I'd have one but the choice of game is less.

Intend to buy a PS3, would possibly buy a 360 if I was convinced it would last as long as my original XBox or PS2. Don't think there are any really decent games out for either at the moment (my personal opinion). Will look at buying one when they've matured more and developers have started pushing the hardware.
Spend time with friends in person, so online play isn't of that much interest to me

I played online on Live with the original XBox (mainly PGR2) and whilst initially a bit of fun, I soon lost interest and didn't renew my years subscription. I'm more for a story in a game and following it through. Dark Corners of the Earth on the original XBox was superb, and that's the sort of thing I like to game with.
No doubt that Live is done well and hopefully Sony will come up with something comparable over time, but I'll still concentrate more on a good story line.
