Default Dell Computers - new desktop

Chaps

What are these like? My parents are looking into buying a new desktop to replace their 486 (only joking, but it is old) and they want a new machine which they can use for fairly basic stuff, surfing the net and burning some dvd's etc.

Had a look at Dell and they seem well priced but open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Two ways to go for me and computers, I either build which is always cheaper and better parts or use DELL, I love Dell PC's so well made, good price and easy to upgrade and from my experience the customer care is second to none !

I bought a PC for my dad last week - it was a reconditioned Dell sold from SVP (SVP: DVD-R & CDR - Blank Media: Reviews and Advice). Got a decent spec machine (no monitor though) for £200 but it included a 3 year onsite dell warranty (costs well over £100 itself). I've used SVP a lot in the past and customer service is second to none. The machine arrived the next day (in a Dell box) and when I opened it it looked brand new (all sealed packages).

Great value and worth considering.

Here's the current list of stock: SVP Communications HOME > PCs & Laptops

I've had a Dell laptop with no issues, recommended other friends to have Dell Laptops and my brother & his FIL a Dell desktop.

All have had no problems and delivery was quick. Can't argue with price.
Haven't had to call on customer support so can't comment on that.

Cheers

Mark
