moved my pc.no cables near so how do i get a wifi adapter to work ??

Default moved my pc.no cables near so how do i get a wifi adapter to work ??

as above. moved my old pc (3yr old) into my kids room but there arent any good ways to get the cable 75 feet to the other end of the house to reach the bt hub....bought a wifi adapter but cant get it to work. its a usb type and meets bt hub spec as per bt website....

First thing I'd suggest would be to temporarily move the PC closer to the hub, to see if it's a problem with the range of the wi-fi adapter.

If it still doesn't work, can you give more details of what exactly is happening (any error messages etc) as simply stating it doesn't work isn't much to go on.

i get a signal there no bother with my lappy. it wont install...do i need to set up a new connection etc ?? actually cant get that to work either lol...i thought it was just plug in and play....i have put the driver in and it seems fine... all the files are there and it finds the adapter too but dont know whats up. bit of a technophoab with these new wifi thingies...

If the BT Home hub has wireless security enabled (WEP/WPA etc) then you need the access key to connect. Also check if the hub is set to only allow known adapters to connect.
